1972 Munich Olympics - Mens 100m
Athletics - 1972 Munich Olympics - Mens 100m Round One Heat Eleven
The USAs Eddie Hart (with his number upside down) on the way to winning his heat in the Olympiastadion, Munich, West Germany.
Unfortunately Hart, who was a strong favourite for the title after equalling the World Record in the US trials, missed the next round, along with compatriot Rey Robinson, after being given the wrong start time by his coach. He was consequently disqualified, although he gained some consolation by anchoring the USA to victory in a new World Record in the 4x100m relay
