Edrich played 332 first-class matches for Lancashire between 1946 and 1958, scoring 14730 runs.
Wharton played 392 first-class games for Lancashire between 1946 and 1960, scoring 17921 runs and 25 centuries. He played one test for England against New Zealand in 1949. He also played rugby league for Salford.
