Jimmy Murphy & Wilfred Carr - WBA

Jimmy Murphy, second left, and Wilfred Carr, right.
Murphy played over 200 first team games for the club between 1930 and 1939, and was later a coach at Manchester United, working under manager Matt Busby for the latter's entire tenure. He temporarily took over as manager in 1958 when Busby recovered from the injuries he sustained in the Munich Air Disaster.
Carr never made a first team appearance for the club, a knee injury prematurely ending his career. He was previously on the books at Newcastle United between 1928 and 1930. His grandson is the comedian Alan Carr
