Japan's Mitsuo Tsukahara on the way to finishing in eighth place on the floor in the Montreal Forum, Quebec, Canada.
At the Montreal Games Tsukahara won gold in the team competition and the horizontal bars, silver in the horse vault, and bronze in the parallel bars and individual competition.
Tsukahara also won team golds at the 1968 and 1972 Olympics, as well gold on the horizontal bar and bronze in the rings in Munich

The USSR's Olga Korbut on the way to winning the gold medal in the balance beam in the Sports Hall, Olympic Park, Munich, West Germany. During the event she became one of the first persons ever to do a backward somersault on the balance beam in competition.
At the 1972 Games the 17 year-old Korbut won gold medals in the balance beam, floor exercises, and team event, and a silver in the uneven bars. Her open display of emotion and tears, after a disastrous uneven bars routine cost her a medal in the individual competition, captivated the Munich audience and endeared her to millions watching on television

Great Britain's Michel de Carvalho during his fourth run at the Artficial Bob and Luge Track, Igls, Austria.
He finished in 29th place overall.
As Michel Ray he had enjoyed a brief Hollywood film career including the role of the Arab boy Faraj in Lawrence of Arabia'. His wife Charlene is the daughter of the Dutch brewing magnate Freddy Heineken, and she inherited the family fortune in 2002.
