Jean-Pierre Monsere - 1970 UCI Road World Championships
Cycling - 1970 UCI Road World Race Championships - Men's Professional Race
Race winner and new World Champion Jean-Pierre Monsere of Belgium, centre, with silver medalist Leif Mortensen of Denmark, left, and bronze medalist Felice Gimondi of Italy, right, at Mallory Park, Leicester.
Monsere, aged 21, was then the second-youngest world champion. Tragically he was killed the next year when he collided with a car during a race.
