He finished in 29th place overall.
As Michel Ray he had enjoyed a brief Hollywood film career including the role of the Arab boy Faraj in Lawrence of Arabia. His wife Charlene is the daughter of the Dutch brewing magnate Freddy Heineken, and she inherited the family fortune in 2002.
